Polana Camp offers large group camp accommodation in camping houses within a beautiful forest setting. Camping houses feature bunk beds with 6 to 8 beds per unit. Each unit is equipped with power, heating and cooling. Kitchen and toilet facilities are communal. Polana Camp is located near Healesville in Victoria.

Polana Camp was established in 1960. Polana Camp is owned and managed by the Polish Association in Melbourne Inc.

The Polish Association in Melbourne Inc. established in 1949 in Melbourne with its first meetings held in the homes of the Association’s members. It provided a venue for cultural and social activities for its members and their families.

In 1960 three members (Mr Władysław Czarkowski, Mr Adam Gruszka and Mr Henryk Pieńkoś) purchased some land 3 kilometers south of Healesville. They sold the land to the Polish Association in Melbourne Inc. at purchase cost some years later.

The Association named this site “Polana” and they established youth camp. It comprises 11 acres of land, approximately 7 acres is bush land.

The association established Polana Camp as a non-profit organization for conducting summer camps for children and for the nurturing and improvement of the Polish language and cultural activities for families of Polish ancestry in Australia.

Volunteer labour constructed several buildings and mainly from donated materials. There is accommodation for 79 guests, a caretaker’s residence, a kitchen with a dining hall, an administration office, a recreational hall and two toilet/bathroom facilities. The camp facilities are used regularly by other groups, associations, organizations, choirs, sporting clubs, private functions, etc.

Polana Camp is a great addition to Healesville accommodation, located very close to Healesville wineries and Healesville restaurants.
